Something is not showing on the site

The blog does not appear at all. Check that the blog is not set to Inactive and that the current domain is in the blog's Domains list. If both look right, contact us: connecting Yello! to your website is done on our side.

A post is missing. The post is Inactive, its Publish Date is in the future, or it has a Required Access Level and you are not logged in as a matching customer. Use the Published filter in the post list to find scheduled and inactive posts.

A scheduled post went live at the wrong hour. The company time zone offset is stale. BrokenRubik keeps it current with a daily job — contact us and we will fix it. See Installation and updates.

Comments do not appear. In Blog Settings, Post Comment available must be on, and the post must not have Disallow Comments. New comments are unpublished until you untick Inactive on them.

The comment form works but nobody gets an email. The blog needs addresses in Email(s) Notification for New Comment. If they are set and emails still do not arrive, contact us: the email sender is configured on our side.

A campaign does not show. Check the date window, and that the campaign targets this page: Show in blog list for list pages, Show in all posts or a post selection for post pages. Only one campaign shows per page, so another campaign may be winning.

A related product is missing from the search. The search matches the start of the item name, display name or caption, returns ten results, and only lists items that are active and displayed on the website. Type more of the name.

"Don't show in Homepage" does nothing. That checkbox is saved but not used by the current site templates.

Messages the dashboard can show

Messages visitors can see

MessageMeaning
Post was not found / Post does not exist or was deleted. The post is missing, inactive, scheduled or restricted for this visitor.
Your comment has been successfully sent and will be displayed here once approved. The comment is waiting for review in the dashboard.
… is required. / … is not valid.A comment form field is empty or, for Email and Website, malformed.
An error occurred, please try again. The comment could not be saved. Usually a temporary problem.

Things the dashboard does not check for you

  • Uniqueness of paths. Blog, post, category, tag and author paths are not checked for duplicates. Duplicates make one of the two unreachable on the site.
  • Author renames. Existing posts may keep the original author name in their byline.
  • Removed categories. A removed category still attached to visible posts keeps showing on the site.
  • Inactive campaigns. The site ignores the campaign Inactive checkbox; use the End Date.
  • Editor content. Anything pasted into Source mode or HTML embed is rendered as is on the site.

Getting help

Write to hello@brokenrubik.co and include:

  • the blog name,
  • the post or record involved,
  • the exact message you saw,
  • the time it happened.

With those four things we can usually find the cause quickly. The server-side details are only visible to the BrokenRubik team, so you do not need to collect any logs yourself.
