Installation and updates

BrokenRubik installs, updates and maintains Yello! for you. This page explains what installation involves, what we need from you before we start, and which changes to ask us for later. You never have to touch the NetSuite setup yourself.

What installation looks like

  1. We install Yello! inside your NetSuite account. Nothing changes on your website yet.
  2. We connect it to your website and publish it. From that moment the blog exists on the domains you choose, even before it has posts.
  3. We give your team access to the dashboard.
  4. Together we create your first blog: name, web address and settings.

What we need from you before we start

  • The domain the blog will live on. It must be a shopping domain of your SuiteCommerce site, for example yourdomain.com. If you are not sure which one to use, tell us the address your customers browse and we will check it.
  • Your company time zone. NetSuite must have one set: it decides when scheduled posts go live. We will tell you if it is missing.
  • Who needs access to the dashboard. Send us the people who will write, moderate or manage the blog, and we give them access.
  • Who should be notified of new comments. One or more email addresses. We switch the notifications on; after that you can change the addresses yourself in Blog Settings.
tip

You can start creating categories, authors and posts as soon as you have access to the dashboard. Nothing appears on your site until we connect it, and you can also prepare content on an inactive blog.

Updates

When a new version of Yello! is released, we install it and publish it to your site for you. Your posts, images, comments and settings are kept. We plan updates with you in advance so publishing is never interrupted.

Changes only we can make

These live on the NetSuite side, not in the dashboard. Write to us when you need any of them:

  • More blogs. Your license allows a fixed number of blogs, one by default. Contact us to raise the limit.
  • Access for new users. New writers and managers join through their NetSuite role; tell us who and we set it up.
  • Comment notification emails that never arrive. They depend on a one-time setup on our side. Check first that the blog has addresses in Email(s) Notification for New Comment.
  • Scheduled posts going live an hour early or late, usually around daylight saving changes. A daily job on our side keeps the clock accurate; if it slips, tell us.
  • The blog's sitemap, the file that tells search engines about your posts. It refreshes automatically every day; if it looks outdated, let us know.

Getting help

When something is not working, include the blog name, the post or record involved, the exact message you saw, and the time it happened. It helps us find the cause faster. Troubleshooting and limits lists every message you can run into.
